How do I ...

How do I use the library services

Borrowing from an I-Share library

USML is a member of I-Share, a network of more than 80 libraries statewide. Start your search for an item using the USML local catalog.
If you do not find an item you are looking for in the USML local catalog, search "All I-Share Libraries" by selecting the dropdown option next to the search box.

Once you have found the item, select Request 1st Available to obtain material from a library within the I-Share network.
If you are not already logged into your account, you will be prompted to log in.
Materials usually arrive within 2-3 business days. You will be notified by email when the item is ready for pick up at the Feehan Memorial Library circulation desk.

Due to licensing restrictions ebooks and ejournals cannot be borrowed from an I-Share library.

Borrowing through InterLibrary Loan (ILL)

Interlibrary Loan - this service is only available to USML faculty and degree students. ILL materials may take a minimum of 5 business days to arrive.

Books - if you cannot find the item in either the USML or the I-Share catalog, the library staff might be able to borrow the item for you through Interlibrary Loan.
Journal articles - if you cannot find an artlcle from a search of the USML print or online journal collection, the library staff may be able to obtain a copy of the article through Interlibrary loan.

Email, provide the title of the material, author, and publication information.
